Top 10 Favourite Nerd Characters

ok. let's be honest here, it'd be 'best' if i didn't had so much love for the first three positions in this ranking... you'll see why. so i went on and changed it to 'favourite' instead: so you know i don't think anyone is better than anyone; i just like some of them better (hehe, see what i just did there? no? ok, let's move on).

#10 Adam Ross (CSI: NY)

ok. first of all: i just looove A.J. Buckley. just getting that out in the open. with that said: Adam is the best nerd this show's ever had, and we're talking CSI, you guys, it has plenty of nerds going around. but this kid was just amazing. not only he knew his chemestry, but he also knew about computer stuff. he could crack a phone completely busted as long as the battery still got juice in it and the chip or memory card were intact. i can barely get mine to work, and it's brand new. also, he was really funny and loyal, which makes him a really good character.

#9 Harold Finch (Person Of Interest)

can i just say that Michael Emerson is fucking brilliant? thank you. i was a little bit doubtful about watching this show because he was such a mofo when he played Ben in LOST; but Finch is a whole other creature, and let me tell you: he is magnificent. the guy alone created this machine that can "tell" when someone is in danger is or about to endanger anyone. like... what? that's fucking awsome! also, he can hack whatever the hell you want him to with just pressing a couple of keys on a computer keyboard. unreal, i know. still: fucking awesome. another thing he can do is being way too adorable; the relationship he builds with partner John Reese (played by sexiest man on Earth: Jim Caviezel) is beyond cute. i mean: you ship that shit like there's no tomorrow, because they would die for each other without thinking twice. bromance, yall.

#8 Dr. Jack Hodgins (Bones).

this show has proven to go to hell after season seven or so, but my love for Dr. Jack Hodgins has only grown. he's a true nerd. i feel incredibly related to him, as a scientist. i love how he gets all excited when he gets to blow things up, or when he finds a rare bug, plant or compound that eventually helps solving the case. besides, he's an entomologist, which is what i'm gonna be if i ever finish this god forsaken career i've chosen for myself. so, yeah, King of the Lab! also, he's fucking rich (or was, before Pelant) and he doesn't brag about it. so... extra points for that. i just love him.

#7 Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)

not so much of a nerd as a book-worm (rather: library-rat), but you gotta love Hermione. she's the classic nerd of the class, which only makes you love her more. i mean: the fact that she can actually do the spells with accuracy and she can recite the History of Magic text book from begining to end... you cannot possibly hate that now, can you? and let's face it: Harry and Ron would've died in the first book if it weren't for Hermione always telling them what to do. even when she was petrified (Chamber Of Secrets) she saved the day... come on! #TeamGrangerFTW. also: Emma Watson's fucking gorgeous.

#6 Dr. Charles Xavier (X-Men)

he's a genetist. and an x-men. need i say more? well he's also rich, and loves humanity. you gotta love this dude! he stood up to his best friend (bromance, when i think about Charles and Erik together all i can think of is bromance) in the name of fucking humanity, which put him in a wheel-chair; he fucking died for humanity  then, for fucks sake! and, again: he's a genetist, so... all the points go to you, professor.

#5 Dr. Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds)

ok. ok. i'll be honest: he's such a nerd, but he's in the list because he is just too fucking adorable. and Matthew Gray Gubler is the cutest guy ever. i am in love with him and all his weirdness. but, no. wait. Reid is the best nerd, because he actually makes other people look like idiots, which i love. his brain goes at a speed no one can follow, and i think since about season two or three, his co-workers just stopped trying to. also, he loves showing off. i can relate to that... and i love it.

#4 Dr. Jedikiah Price (The Tomorrow People US)

just to get it out there: i absolutely adore Mark Pellegrino. there, i said it. now, moving on to Jedikiah: he is insane and i love it. fellow biologist, a genetist, as a matter of fact, he lives and breathes for the cause. the cause being he wanting to know that makes the 'tomorrow people' (or 'paranormals', as he calls them) tick. he not only wanted to know how they were genetically, he also wanted to find a way to turn himself into one of them. typical scientist. we want it all. also, he has brotherly issues, as he kept Roger in a cryogenic state for years. waiting to find a way to bring him back from the dead (after he killed him. yep. awkward). i repeat: he's insane, and i love every bit of it.

#3 Sherlock Holmes

the name speaks for itself. sassy as fuck, and isufferable know-it-all, Sherlock Holmes lives to put people down. he loves making others feel stupid. eighteen-hundreds drama queen, he is one of my favourite nerds ever. he knows his biology, chemistry and physics. but as knowledge not being enough, he puts his weirdness to use by solving crimes the Scotland Yard fellows are "way too stupid" to. his words, not mine. well, not literally his words, but you know that's what he's always thinking. if Dr. Spencer Reid loves to show off, Sherlock Holmes is the King of show-offs. and god! how i love it. also: he's been portraid by many talented actors, my favourite being (obviously) Benedict 'Cheekbones' Cumberbatch (i'd follow him to the end of the world), ergo: the picture. if you love Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes books and you haven't watched "Sherlock", then: what the fuck are you doing with your life? go watch it, it's worth every heartbreak second.

#2 Tony Stark (Iron Man - Marvel Comics)

he is the Iron Man. you don't get any cooler than that. he is a pioneer, an absolute genius, an innovator, an engineer... yes, he is an Oompa Loompa of science, but a fucking awesome one. also: he is a Bruce Banner's fangirl, so you gotta love Tony. he gives zero fucks about everybody, he says what he thinks, he does as he pleases, and he gets away with murder (almost literally). he has a killer secretary, life companion, love of his life: Pepper Potts. she's pretty fucking awesome too. if i ever started listing all the things i love about Tony Stark this post would last forever. so, if you wanna know whay i mean, pick up an Iron Man comic, or watch a Marvel movie (RDJ was born to play Tony Stark. he is the Iron Man), and you'll see.

#1 Fitz-Simmons (Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.)

speaking of Marvel Universe... yeah, yeah, i know Fitz-Simmons are actually two separate nerds, but one can't live without the other, so i'm taking on them as one giant & cute nerd.

apart of being ridiculously good-looking and the fact that they have hella sexy accents, i love Fitz-Simmons because they are nerdy as fuck; and they love showing it off, even though they know no one cares. and they are my #1 because when they face a new challenge, they act like kids in a toy store. and as a scientist myself, i can say that's accurate. also: the dynamics between these two, finishing each others sentences, being in each others minds all the time. they've spent so much time together and they know each other so fucking well that sometimes they don't even have to speak to understand each other. and i love that. Jed and Marissa did an amazing job with these two. and Elizabeth and Iain just own the roles. i mean: who doesn't want a partner that knows you so well they don't have to even be in the same room with you to know what you'd do?! best.nerds.ever.

so, that's my top 10 favourite nerds. of course, there's no need to say that patient zero here is The Big Bang Theory, right? i mean, not a character in the show. the whole show itself. it's fucking brilliat.
