CHAPTER I: CAPTURING THE DREAM (part 1).
-And this is the recording room…
Alyson’s eyes couldn’t believed what they were seeing, and she was completely sure her fellas couldn’t believe it either. When the door wide opened, this gigantic room appeared in front of their eyes.
-¡Por Dios! – Alyson yelled in her native languaje.
-¡Dale! ¡No seas así! –
Alyson was a nineteen year-old girl, whose biggest dream was to become a musician. A star. She had a brother; an older brother. They used to fight all the time, at all times. But there was one, and only one, thing that could bring them together. And that special, specific thing was, as a matter of fact: music.
Her and his eldest brother had been making music just for three years, so she still couldn’t believe her dream was actually coming true.
-Excuse me, miss. Do you need something? – the stewardess asked very politely.
Alyson turned her head really slowly to face the stewardess. Then she smiled widely and she just shook her head. When the stewardess walked a few steps she came back to her brother.
-Me hiciste quedar como una maleducada… - she told him.
-Era la idea – he answered.
Julian sat in a more comfortable way and set his headphones in the right place. Even though they didn’t fight quite as much, he very much enjoyed playing around with his little sister. He thought twenty-four wasn’t old enough to quit playing ‘picking on my lil’ sis’.
Alyson knelt on her seat and leaned over it to watch what the rest of her friends were doing. Sitting right behind her was her best friend: Alicia. Another nineteen year-old girl whose dream was… well, to find the perfect appetizer, entrance, meal, and dessert combined. Which wasn’t at all wrong, just… twisted. Anyways: another dream of hers was to become the first female bassist, who isn’t a cartoon, that doesn’t play bass wearing skirts. Very, very profound.
-Ally… ¿Me hacés un truco de los tuyos? – the girl next to Alice asked Alyson.
-Dale – Alyson said all happy about it.
She grabbed her deck of cards from her back pocket and started mixing them. Sofía was Alyson’s biggest fan. She had joined the band a few weeks ago and she was turning sixteen the day of the plane ride. You may think someone that young shouldn’t be playing drums, but she was one of the best.
-¿Estás haciendo magia? – a boy appeared over Sofía’s seat.
-Sabés que no me gusta la palabra “magia” - Alyson complained, but continued with the trick.
-¡Otra! ¡Otra! ¡Otra! – Sofía exclaimed once and again, clapping and jumping up and down, making her curly red hair bounce all around.
And so Alyson kept doing magic tricks until Sofía fell asleep. Then they had to find something else to make the time fly.
