'American Horror Story': Ryan Murphy talks the season finale and an even 'more ambitious' season 3

We’ve never seen anything quite like the 13 hours of American Horror Story: Asylum. Nuns. Aliens. Nazis. Anne Frank. Denture Christmas ornaments. Mutant Mark Consuelos. Chloe Sevigny sans legs. And it all culminated in an utterly satisfying and brilliant season finale. Lana (Sarah Paulson) became a Barbara Walters-esque media star while Jude (Jessica Lange) and Kit (Evan Peters) forged a surprising, almost-familial bond. EW chatted with co-creator Ryan Murphy about AHS: Asylum for one final time and got a few more details about the third season.


First thing I wanna talk about is how incredibly brilliant and Emmy-worthy Sarah Paulson is in this episode. What do you think?
I really agree with that. I think that she really knocked it out of the park. She to me was the big surprise of the season. I’ve been friends with Sarah for a long time but I think she’s one of the most talented—if not THE most talented—actress of her generation. I think she has an incredibly long and exceptional career ahead of her. But for the Emmys it’s a little disheartening because there’s no longer a supporting actress category. So for my money I would be thrilled if Jessica and Sarah and Lily Rabe and Frances Conroy all got nominated because I think they’re just four spectacular actresses with four spectacular performances.

Lana really emerged as the heart of this season. Did that evolve? Or did you like Lana’s story as it went on? Or was it Sarah’s performance? She did really become an important part of the story.
She did. When I pitched this season, the original final episode was all just going to be Act One. It was gonna be a longer version of that. The original finale was gonna be Sarah Paulson now free, a Jacqueline Susann/Truman Capote type, gets a kick in her conscience from Kit and goes back in and shuts that down. And we were gonna have the whole last hour be a documentary of her doing that. But I think when we were working on that I thought “I don’t want to see feces smeared people for an hour. It’s so grim.” So we abandoned that around episode 10. We thought let’s give Jude a happy ending. Let’s make that one act. But let’s really make the last act Paulson vs. Bloody Face. So we broke that out early on but kept the original idea. I was thrilled with the changes. I was very thrilled with how emotional it was. Some of that was John Landgraf who felt very strongly that Kit needed to go back in and get Sister Jude out not for himself but for his children. That dialogue was all sort of John’s that I thought was very beautiful. Tim [Minear] did a breath-taking script. It just all came together.

Did Barbara Walters inspire modern-day Lana?
Well yes, 100% it was Barbara Walters. It was also a little bit of Brooke Astor. When we were doing Sarah’s make-up, we sorta did the math and I think Sarah Paulson’s character was like 2 years younger than Barbra Walters so we really looked at photos today of Barbara and copied that make up. But the truth of the matter, Barbara looks so much better than Lana.
Also, I liked the commentary of fame as a modern day horror, which I have come to believe it is. So that was a fun add.

And she’s got a hot lady!
And she’s got a hot lady lesbian opera singer. I loved all that stuff that Tim wrote about dinner with the Sondheims. I loved all that.

The big set pieces of the alien abduction and the Angel of Death arrival were both played scary. But this time they were reassuring and beautiful with people in pain taken away.
Yeah. I think they were both horror tropes that then became a release of pain, salvation. I wanted all three of those characters—Jessica, Evan, and Sarah—to get their happy ending I think they did. I really imagined that Kit—I’ve said this before—is like Richard Dreyfus at the end of Close Encounters and they probably cure him and give him some happy resolve.

Sarah was telling me that the final scenes you guys shot was her confrontation with Dylan. It’s interesting the show ended with that momentous meeting.
It was a very long period of days in that apartment. I just thought Dylan was such a great surprise.

He can eat an éclair very scarily.
I thought he was quite brilliant in that part. I think people were blown away from that side of him. Dylan is so good and versatile and hasn’t been able to show because he usually plays the Ben Harmon type or the lawyer from The Practice. I think he really got into that dirt-under-the-fingernails kind of thing.

It’s funny to see Evan being maternal to Jessica because she was the worst mother in the world to him in season one.
Yeah it’s like Constance finally got the son she always wanted. That’s the fun of the show. Every season of it is so flipped.

I told you this already but I think that AHS: Asylum, as a whole, is the best thing you’ve ever done. It really is a high point. Do you feel the same?
I really am humbled that you say that. For me, this season was a transition and a gateway drug of things I’m interested in doing in the future. I’m glad I have this under my belt before I go and direct The Normal Heart in New York because I felt it was of a piece. I don’t know. I feel like my career is so strange and so bizarre because I do a lot of different genres and I never do the same thing in a row. But I was very proud of it and I was very proud of the Catholic thing. I was very proud of the mental health stuff. Even when we first started this, this idea of can this possibly work? After this season I feel like it’s a resounding yes it can work. I think this show could do now 10 years and I’d be interested in doing it that long and I like that every year will be a completely different tone and message and visual look. A lot of people loved season one and didn’t love season two as much. A lot of people who loved season two didn’t like the lightness of season one. I think it’s an interesting show for fans too and I like that about it. My favorite thing about it was the research of all that stuff and I think our production crew and costumer and DP did such a great job being true to reality.

So you have Sarah and Jessica and Evan all lined up to return?
Yes I do.

Do you want people from season two and season one?
A mixture of both and then I’m meeting new people. I’m meeting new actresses. I’m meeting some really cool people. I think the story is good and so far has attracted a great interest from people because of what it’s about which is fun.

You had said you wanted a younger romance in season 3. Would Taissa Farmiga, who’s in talks to return, be part of that?
Yes. There’s a romantic element. I think the whole season I want to be funnier, romantic. But make no mistake, just when I think it’s gonna be a little lighter, I find this great, true-life character that’s the most horrible woman ever created.

Is that character the main villain?
Um kind of. I think Jessica is going back to be in that Constance-vein. She’s gonna go back to her evil roots, Jessica Lange.

I’ve had enough of her being a martyr.
I want constant makeup, gowns and a full on blow out for every scene!

People are dying to know what season 3 is about. Can you say anything more?
No. I start meeting with the writers on Monday. I’ve talked to them about what I want to do and everyone loves it. I want to flesh it out a bit before I announce it. I have like 6 nominees for the word. You know this year the word was “asylum.” I’m trying to figure out which is the best one.

Do the actors know more specifics?
No. And, believe you me, they have all called. I mean yes they know. To get Taissa to come back, I had to pitch her the whole idea. So some people know. But some of those actors don’t want to know til they read a script.

And you signed Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, who directed the finale?
Yes, Alfonso is going to be our producer/director so he will be directing a lot of them. He will be working with me to really create the look of what we’re doing. What we’re doing is more ambitious than what we’ve ever done.

So this one will be shot on location? Or on soundstages?
No this one will be shot on location in 3 different cities in the country.  I should just say that it’s American Horror Story: Bret Easton Ellis and the whole thing is set in his mind. Wouldn’t that be brilliant? Maybe that’s season four.

Oh, YES! I want me some 'Constance' mode Ms. Lange! I mean: I loved Sis Jude, but there's nothing like Constance Langdon (:

AHS: Asylum Big Full Season Review... Or... Something

If you're here then you better seen this season, otherwise: prepare yourself for  MAJOR SPOILERS! (you've been warned). Oh, who am I kidding?! If you haven't seen it, then you didn't miss much...

So. Murchuk did dissapointed me a little -just cuz I don't really wanna write the phrase "dissapointed me a lot" next to the word "Murchuk". Wait. I just did. Oh, well, anyways: "American Horror Story: Asylum", no. Just. No.

It started well. It started freaky, and scary and mental...

Episode 1 ("Welcome To Briarcliff"):

Adam Levine's arm ripped-off scene is amazing. It is amazing in the first episode as it is when we see it from Bloody Face's eyes on the very last one. Jessica Lange as Sister Jude was also amazing (at all times, of course). Evan Peters played Kit Walker really cute and nobel; but aliens? Seriously? I mean: in this episode you see nothing from the aliens so you can still think it's all in Kit's head and, he is nine kinds of crazy, and butchered his very-non-white-nor-black secret wife. Chloë Sevigny's character, Shelley is another delight in this episode, in my opinion. And well: we all love Lily Rabe playing the very innocent Sister Mary Eunice. Lana "Banana" Winters, on the other hand, even though is played wonderfully by Sarah Paulson, I didn't like. She is a kind of paparazzi type reporter. Not a real reporter in my opinion. She doesn't want to tell people the way the world is. She just wants to be famous or recognized for something. Another highlight was James Cromwell's character Dr. "oh-everybody-knows-I'm-a-fucking-Nazi" Arden. Brilliant. Anywho: first episode: I forgive everything.

When the first episode finished, nontheless, the first thing coming out my mouth was: "where the fuck is my Zac Quinto?!"

Episode 2 ("Tricks And Treats"):

Highlights: Devon Graye playing a very, very possed Jed. Amazing. I'm telling ya, a-fucking-mazing. Zac Quinto playing Doctor with Kit. Really cute with his glasses and all ♥. He plays Dr. Thredson, an outsider from Briarcliff Doc who was called in to diagnose Kit Walker = psychopath? Or just a criminal? Moving on: Sis Mary Eunice got possed by Jed's devil... demon... whatever... yeaaaah! Finaly we get to see some real insanity here.

Or so I thought. Wondering what the fuck happened to mutilated Levine and his fiction wife Mrs. Channing Tatum?

Episode 3 ("Nor'east"):

Okay: three psychos copy-catting (if such term can be used) a serial killer. Hello. It's been seen before: we all remember episode 2 from season one "Home Invasion". R. Franklin copy-cats? Three seriously disturbed kids with a lot of time to waste? It was brilliant there. It was a little weak in "Asylum". At least they kept Evan Peters dressed at all times in this episode. I'm not complaining. I'm not saying I don't love to see him bare-chested; but I was a little sick of seing him butt-naked. Word. It was starting to get old. So our four "heroes" -sorts of speak- (Lana, Grace, Shelley, and Kit) try to escape Briarcliff. Shelley has to stay behind to create some distraction, as a decoy... kinda. So, Lana, Grace, and Kit make it out of the asylum, but they stumble with some of Dr. A's creations and... well... they run back in. Which I would've never, but if they'd ran the other way then there's no "AHS: Asylum". So they run back into Briarcliff and since Sister Jude is drunk as Barney Gumble didn't even realized they were soaking wet from outside's rain. BTW: Pepper's missing from this episode on and no one seems to care. Oh, well. Shit like that can happen. Besides she had seen the incredibly out-of-place aliens, so, everything is understandable. Moving on: Sis M. Eunice kills someone in this episode: amazingness. Dr. Arden goes all Constance against the poor Virgin Mary Statue (playing Tate in this scenario) who didn't do anything to him, but whatever, I really liked that scene. Oh, and he also fucking chopped Shelley's fucking legs off.

"Ok...!", you think: "Dr. Arden plays rough!". Well, don't worry, you'll be dissapointed in a couple of episodes.

Episode 4 ("I Am Anne Frank (Part 1)"):

So, she wasn't really Anne Frank, but she was right: Dr. Arden was a fucking Nazi. He was. She also finds out about Shelley being all butchered in Dr. A's personal lab. Big, big episode ending. Also, in this episode, we get to see Dr. Thredson trying to "cure" Lana from her lesbianism (is that even a word? I hope not, cuz it is not a disease or a condition), which is... very "Clockwork Orange"-ish, if I may say. Kit and Grace have sex in the kitched -very hygenic, guys- and he gets her pregnant. Way to go, Kit! Like a champ! Not. We find out Monsignor Timothy Howard (played by Joseph Fiennes) is a bad, bad person, and it's very aware of what Dr. Arden is scheming; he too kinda plays a part in it and everything. Very wicked.

So, by the end of this episode you're like: "I wanna see more of this fake Anne Frank! She's a godforsaken action figure!", and yeap she is...

Episode 5 ("I Am Anne Frank (Part 2)"):

... at least until she gets fucking lobotomized by Dr. A!!! Well, that sucked. Let's talk about the tit-lamp for a moment: I hated the fact that Dr. Thredson was Bloody Face. I mean: Zac Quinto played nuts just fine, he's awesome. But... really? You pick Dr. Thredson to be your serial killer when you've got Dr. Nazi on the scene? I thought that was just ridiculous. Also: he can get any woman he wants to kidnap, but he chooses the lesbian crazy reporter. Come on! On another note: loved fake Anne Frank flashbacks; real cute. Back into the story: aliens again. Please stop it. Stop it forever. Highlight: Ms. Lange killed it with that monologue near the end of the episode. Just brilliant.

And now you think: "AHS: Asylum" cannot get any worse. Well: it can.

Episode 6 ("The Origins Of Monstrosity"):

I thought the little psycho scary girl would bring AHS back, but the story kinda went "Piggy, Piggy" turned bad. They introduced her, and she was supposed to play all cute and innocent, but anyone could tell she was a crazy motherfucker, so... not very impresive for me. Sister Jude confirms Dr. A is a former Nazi, so she starts an -as it seems- endless battle that will end up very lame. We get to know more about how Oliver Thredson became Bloody Face: not interesting at all. Kit is sent to prison. Awkward turn of events. Highlight: Sister M. Eunice dumps butchered Shelley... on a school playground. My. Hero. Then Timothy smothers her to death in a hospital. Well, someone's going to Hell.

By know, the only thing I look up to see every week is Sister Mary Eunice. Well, possesed Sister M. Eunice.

Episode 7 ("Dark Cousin"):

Freaking finaly a good character! Here she comes to save the day! ♪ Here comes Frances Conroy impersonating the Angel Of Death. Very delightful. Best thing since episode 1. So, in this ungrateful episode, we get to see Kit escaping custody, just to watch him go back inside the asylum: I mean, come on! Come-fucking-on! Then we realize that Sister Jude didn't really hit-&-run that little kid back in the days, so she's still amazing and not a killer. Good for her. I actually liked that turn of events, it was really nice to see that Judy can shine some light on her past once and for all. Also: Lana escapes Thredson and she ends up back in Briarcliff. Also: really awkward turn of events.

I'm about to let this go, and not watch "AHS: Asylum" anymore, but I give it another shot. It's a Christmas episode.

Episode 8 ("Unholy Night"):

The title just ruins it for me. So. Very. Predictable. But I gotta give it to them: the tree decorated with hospital shit was pretty cool. I thought the crazy -obssesed with Christmas- patient played by actor extraordinaire Ian McShane was a weak character. And he should've totally killed Timothy right away. But, whatever, it's just my opinion-. Kit is dozed up the whole episode and Dr. Thredson comes back to Briarcliff to take Lana home... again. Just fucking kill her already! I can't stand her...

I don't even know why the fuck I keep watching AHS anymore...

Episode 9 ("The Coat Hanger"):

Boring. Boring. Boring. Dr. A kills Kit to make the aliens come back to Earth? Just fucking quit it with the aliens! It sucks! And then he brings him back to life. And the aliens didn't even touch Arden. Seriously? I mean: if you're gonna go and say that the aliens want Kit for something, that he's way too important for them, then if someone kills the fuck out of him, the least you can do is make the aliens kind of avenge Kit's temporary death and then bring him to life. This whole Dr. A killing Kit and bringing him back to life was very stupid and didn't explain anything to me. Highlight: Lana and Kit make a tape Dr. Thredson confessing he's Bloody Face; also: Judy Martin broke the "Dominique" disc. I. Love. You. I couldn't care less about the modern Bloody Face. Also: Lana's fucking pregnant with Dr. Thredson's child and she tries to make herlsef an abortion poking her womb with a coat hanger-. How both the baby and her survived that? No one knows.

By the end of this episode I'm thinking: "Why. The. Fuck. Sister. Jude. Is. Not. The. Queen. Of. The. Asylum. Anymore. What. Were. They. Thinking?"

Episode 10 ("The Name Game")

Oh, screw the storyline! THE NAME GAME SONG WAS AMAZING! I loved it from begining to end. The rest of the episode. Meh. But the performance. Everything was so perfect. I loved it. Sister M. Eunice "rapes" Timothy. Yeah, like he couldn't do anything about it. Well, it's not like he wasn't going to Hell anyways. Speaking of Timothy and Sis M Eunice... he throws her off the stair case and kills her along with the demon. Not like that can really happen, but whatever, AHS makes its own rules for everything. I mean: everybody knows that even if you kill the meat suit, the demon can live in it as long as it wants to. Hello?! Basic demon possession knoledge. Anyways: I looked passed this cuz there were lamest things to watch. Like the fact that Dr. A murdered himself when he cremated Sis M. E.'s body. Very stupid and pussy from him. I hated that. I think they ruined the character.

I decided not to watch anymore, but then... well, hello. There're only three episodes left. It'd be stupid not to watch them.
Episode 11 ("Spilt Milk"):

Ok. THIS. Let's talk about Lana shooting the brains out of Dr. T's skull. That was awesome. Freaking awesome. I can't believe she waited that much, I would've blown his eyes off when he walked in, but... give it up for Lana Banana, peeps, cuz she turned out to be a fucking badass! I love her now! Not. I'm not even talking about the ho breast-feeding John (Dylan McDermott). It was truly disgusting. It was past disgusting, it was... EW! I'M TALKING ABOUT IT! Gotta say: this episode's scenes of Kit reminded me of how much I love Evan. I mean: when Kit held his baby for the first time and his eyes started to tear up... so.damn.cute. He's an amazing actor. Also, we all know Kit's the good boy, but the way he manipulated Timothy into getting Grace out of Briarcliff was brilliant! I loved it! But, yeah: aliens again. What. The. Fuck. Also: what's up with Alma being alive?

Two episodes to go, so what the heck...?

Episode 12 ("Continuum"):

So, Lana got out of Briarcliff and she wrote a book. She wrote a book and became famous before she even tried to shut down the asylum as she said she would. What a bitch. I hate her. Kit living with both Alma AND Grace and both kids. Mmm. Not cool. Sister Jude going completely mad. Didn't like it either. More Modern Bloody Face story. I doooon't caaaareeee!!! Not interesting.

And that's about it. I don't have any more expectations of the aliens being in Kit's head. I just want this bad season series to end.

Episode 13 ("Madness Ends"):

Ok. First of all: madness ended like 7 episodes ago. B. I would've killed for "American Horror Story" (season 1) to have 13 episodes. It would've been awesome. Anyways: this episode was way too happy for me. Not crazy, awkward, kinda creepy, happy like season 1. More like Disney® happy. Kit got what he wanted. Ok, yeah, Alma killed the fuck outta Grace with an axe and then she died in Briarcliff, but he was happy with both his kids. And he got Judy out of the asylum and his alien/godforsaken kids took her to the woods and cured her from being completely nuts. And they lived happily ever after until Jude died from brain cancer (I particulary loved the scene where the Angel Of Death takes Judy with her) and Kit from loung cancer or something. He even got to get re-married. Come on! If that's not Disney® material, what is? I'd like to point out that is physically impossible to fill the tub up with your own blood cutting your wrists like that; I mean: with your arms outside the tub, gravity and the arm angle wouldn't allow the fluid to go that way. FACT! Just saying... Also Lana got everything she wanted and I hated every single bit of it. She killed her own non-genetically-possible-blue-eyed son with a shot in the head when HE was there to kill HER! Also: I didn't understand what that last scene meant. The one from episode 1. Did it mean that Lana Banana is capable of anything regarding of the process as long as she gets what she wants? Or did it mean that Sister Jude never commited her into Briarcliff and she made everything up and that's why she never tried to shut the asylum down? So, the Modern Bloody Face was just a crazy psycho who thought he was Dr. Thredson's son? And she killed him cuz... who knows?! I don't know. It's not clear. It's not well explained. The finale was very vague and honestly: it didn't gave much insight into the basic storyline. It. Was. Just. Not. Good.

So, sorry if you actually liked the season. But for me: it was crappy from beginning to end. Mostly end.

'American Horror Story': Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters Returning for Season 3

Following a screening of the second-season finale, co-creator Ryan Murphy told reporters that next year would be about "female power" and revolve around a female icon.

Jessica Lange isn't the only American Horror Story castmember returning for season three.

During a Thursday press screening of Wednesday's second-season finale of Asylum, co-creator Ryan Murphy confirmed to reporters that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters also are coming back for next season.

"I'm just now meeting with a lot of actors, so I don't want to say too much," Murphy said. "But they're actors Jessica wants to work with -- so she's sort of become a noncredited producer on season three, because she loves doing the show."

Details about next season -- including its likely subtitle -- are again being kept under wraps, but Murphy confirmed that it would be a modern-day story revolving around Lange. "We do have a great icon, and it's a woman," he said, noting that the show again would be inspired by things that he's personally interested in.

"I always start off with things that I've always been obsessed with," Murphy said. "The season that we're just about to do is another thing like that asylum thing that I was always really interested in as a kid. I come up with the story, and it's obviously always now crafted around Jessica, for the most part. Before I talk to anybody, I go to her and tell her what the story is and tell her what the character is, and she has input. This year, she said, 'I would like to work with X, Y, Z' -- people she's always wanted to work with."

While details of Lange's exact role -- like everything else -- are scarce, Murphy said she would play a "really glamour-cat sort of lady."

Paulson and Peters would join Lange as having been in all three seasons of the FX anthology series -- with the former having a minor role in the first year as a psychic named Billie Dean who coincidentally provided the clue to what Asylum ultimately would be about. Murphy also noted that the duo might not be the only season-one castmembers coming back for AHS third year.

"I will say that for season three, we are going to have some actors from season one who will return," he noted. "I like that idea. I know that those actors are interested in that."

After two seasons of death and (literal) insanity, the Glee and New Normal co-creator also said AHS would explore familiar themes. "What season three is about is more historical in nature," he teased. "I'm also interested in getting into a horror romance. That's certainly something that's going to be in the water for season three.

"You're going to see a very different tone in season three, but that's the joy of the show," he added. "I think as a person right now I do feel lighter and wanting to embrace something a little bit more fun."

Murphy told reporters that, like season two, next year again will jump between time periods -- and cities -- and remain a self-contained 13-episode season.

"I hope the show goes for 10 years, because I have so many different kinds of horror that I would like to write about," he said. "I love that you can jump periods, you can play with different actors. I know the actors love playing different characters, so it's something that we'll always stay with."

Peters, for his part, played a former serial killer named Tate confined to the house the Harmons bought in season one. In the just-ended season, he played Kit, a beleaguered good guy who was recently freed from Briarcliff, the institution for the insane at the heart of the sophomore edition.

Ok. THIS:

I don't know where the fuck Murchuk's going with all this alien thingy, but I hope it's all in Kit's crazy imagination cuz I don't do aliens. Aliens are sci-fi. AHS is horror. Sci-Fi. Horror. Sci-Fi. Horror. Two different genres.

Anyways: I'm pretty happy about how all this is turning out, mostly cuz the season so far was boring me a little. But it's picking up real fast. I'm also still hoping John is Kit and Grace's baby and not Lana and Oliver's, you know? Cuz Lana and Oliver have brown eyes and John has blue eyes, which would be genetically impossible. On the other hand, if John was Kit and Grace's baby, it'd be alright for him to have blue eyes cuz Grace's got blue eyes so... it could happen, it could happen. Fingers crossed.

Two more episodes to go! The end is near. Still not making up any theory about season 3. I'm waiting for this one to end and then I start obsessing over AHS season 3 like I did last year with season 2. At least we know Ms. Lange is gonna be there, so it will definitely be awesome!

OH MY GOD!!! Zach Quinto gone all serial killer...! Oliver is finally showing his true colors. I'm loving this. It is still a little weird that Dr. Thredson is Bloody Face. But I do love me some serial killer madness. And Quinto plays a psycho just lovely. It makes me wanna hug him. For real. I'm serious.
BTW: more Sister Mary Eunice. FINALLY!!! ♥

AHS: Asylum 2x05 ("I Am Anne Frank: Part 2") Review

As always: If you're here then you better seen the episode, otherwise: prepare yourself for  MAJOR SPOILERS! (you've been warned)

So, the first time I watched this episode, I thought: "no way I'm making a review of this! IT SUCKED!". But I watched it again today with my bro and sis and I changed my mind.

 

Okay. Let's talk about the elefant in the room. Dr. Thredson is Bloody Face. Dr. Oliver Fucking Thredson is Bloody Fucking Face. I don't like this, but I like Quinto playing the bad guy; it reminds me a little bit of Sylar -> the only reason I watched "Heroes".

 

And I really like the fact that he kidnapped Lana, because I don't like her, so cheers to him for that. And...

 

I also really liked the nippled lamp and the trap door on the floor of his "hobby" room.

 

AND the fact that he took Lana's girlfriend's teeth out. Oh, yeah.

 

Well, I'm not even paying much attention to Grace and Kit.

 

Apparentaly, Grace is crazy and she saw the aliens (and a very naked/pregnant Alma), and Kit is going to Black Gate (Batman inside joke).

 

I couldn't care less about this two.

 

I can't believe Arden's not Bloody Face. But I love that even though Anne Frank well... wasn't Anne Frank, Arden is still a Nazi Doc. So, I love you, Murchuk for that.

 

Sister Mary Eunice dropped Monster-Shelley on a playground! Way to go, demon! That was awesome.

 

I mean... AWESOME!!! I hope she can get to a hospital and maybe someone can fix her later on. I have hope, I really like Shelley's character.

 

The lobotomy was a little strange, I mean: what the heck?

 

There should've been a hole where her right eye used to be. And, for a moment I thought she didn't mean that she had never been happier. Like she was faking it. I hope we get to see more of this.

 

BTW: Loved the way they played with the flashbacks.

 

No way Sister Jude is going away from Briarcliff. It doesn't make any sense! BTW: Ms. Lange killed it with that monologue. She's got to win another Emmy. I mean... seriously.

I'm kinda under the impression Grace might be Bloody Face...? I don't know... I'm lost.

AHS: Asylum 2x04 ("I Am Anne Frank: Part 1") Review.

Well... I'm not quite excited about this season yet. I guess it's because there're so many characters and we know so little about them... yet... I hope.

 

Anyways: Dr. Arden is a Nazi. YES! Best character so far. And he's still experimenting with Shelley (oh, my little baby-ho) -> I loved this character, I can't believe they kinda... killed her; or may be not. I don't know. I had the feeling she could be Bloody Face, but aparentely she's going down next week, under Anne Frank's smoking gun.

 

By the way: I think the Anne Frank part was a little too much, but I guess it's okay. I mean: it's a coo-coo people facility after all. And even if she is Anne Frank or not, she was still right about Arden being a Nazi, so. Point taken.

 

I can't stand Kit's whining anymore. And, can someone explain to me why the fuck did he and Grace had sex in the kitchen?! The conversation didn't really give me that vibe, but... okay. Whatever.

 

I don't like Grace at all. And I really don't ship Kit and Grace. I don't. I don't feel sorry for her.

I can't believe I'm saying this but... Grace and Kit pretty much bore the hell out of me. I don't care about them, I don't... I don't wanna know what happened to them, how they got there, if Kit's actually crazy or the aliens are for real (please, let them not be)...

I like Sister Jude so far, but I think it's only because Ms. Lange plays it so well. That scene of Sis Jude and Kit, with Kit crying, was pretty awesome.

Cheers to Evan for that amazing performance. He rocks. I love him. Still don't like Kit, though.

Only ONE scene with Sister Mary Eunice?! COME ONE! It's the best freaking character, peeps! COME ON! She's fucking possessed! I wanna see more of her! I hate Murchuk for keeping me waiting.

 

Dr. Thredson is a fucking pancake! I still love him though. But he kind of wants to save everyone. He believes Kit is a serial killer but he doesn't want to send him to the chair. Make up your mind, Doc. You're driving me nuts.

I already say I don't like Lana. But, poor thing she's so desesperate to get out- the "Clock-work Orange" method was... AMAZING! I loved it. It was... so cool. So cool. Poor, poor thing though. I sort of root for the girl a little bit.

 

Monsignor Howard is a bad boy! And of course! His name is Timothy -> whatever that means. I wonder if he allows Arden to experiment with patients and if he's aware of what the Doc's been creating.

Aaaaanywhooooo: I guess I'll have to keep watching to see if all of this gets any better.

I gotta give it to Anne Frank for this scene:

She's a godforsaken action figure.

Or I'm driving myself crazy which is highly probable. But it'd be nice. I mean, I know Dr. Arden cut her legs off, but as a Frankestein, he may put some new ones on her later on. You don't know, people do things...

Finally! We know why Grace's been admitted. Finally! Kit stops being a wuss Wendsday night.

asjdlaksjdlkajsdlkjaslkdj!!! What the fuck with Adam Levine's character that simply doesn't want to die?! I mean, seriously. He should've been dead from the moment Bloody Face chopped his fucking right arm off! Come on! Anyways: loved the outcome...!

They finally kill the REAL Bloody Face, then two psychos -"Home Invasion" style- appear out of nowhere and BANG! BANG! BANG!

 

Mrs. Channing Tatum's dead. Cheers for that, it was a beautiful detail.

 

Then the ACTUAL Bloody Face makes his terrifying entrance to kill the fucking copy-cats. Standing ovation. Perfect. Just. Perfect. We have a ghost ladies and gentlemen. AHS is BACK!

 

I'm getting a little anxious about -Evan's character- Kit not appearing too much. It's like Ryan said: "yeah, he's gonna play a major character; he's gonna be in e-v-e-r-y episode". Well... yeah, he's been in every episode, but I've seen more Tate in fifteen minutes of AHS than I've seen Kit Walker in three episodes of Asylum.

 

I'm not complaining, Evan's not the reason that I watch AHS, but... you know? I'd kinda like to see him more. At least he was dressed at all times in this episode.

 

Sister Jude saw an alien. What? I mean, what?! Excuse me: WHAT?!?!?!?!?! She was drunk and let's hope it was just her imagination cuz... I can't handle aliens on AHS... it just... It does NOT fit. Horror. Science-fiction. Horror. Science-fiction. TWO DIFFERENT GENRES!!!

FYI: sickiest scene ever...: 

I cannot believe fucking Dr. Arden fucking cut fucking Shelley's legs fucking off! You MOSNTER! I really like you (: but, seriously, not cool.

I liked walking Shelley... she difinetely won't make the breakout now.

Speaking of which: I can't believe they ran back to the Asylum. After all they've been through in there, I'd rather be eaten by Infantatas/Wendigos/Walkers (cuz that's what they pretty much looked like) than going back there with Sister Mean and Dr. Meaner. Serously, not a good move -> from the characters. It was a really good move from the writers, cuz if Grace, Kit, and Lana would've escaped successfully or died, then... no more AHS: Asylum left, right? And we're only on episode three.

 

Dr. Thredson. YES! Zach Quinto is so awesome... I love him ^^ that character is so great. He'd do anything to go behind Sis Jude's back and try and stab her. I really like that about him. He's a good person with high moral standars trying to fight religion with science. So cool.

 

BTW: Lily Rabe is making such a great job with possessed Sister Mary Eunice. AH! Awesome...

 

Also, Grace saying: "I think we found the mexican". Under the rain. While escaping. After Lana screamed her butt off. In that tone. Amazing. I just... things are looking up for Grace (:
