true dat, Tom.

i agree with him completely.

as music goes, i usually  buy stuff from artists i like without a doubt. and if i’m unsure i’m gonna like it, i’d download it, and if i do, then i’d buy a physical copy. but, the problem comes when most of the artists i support and love aren’t edited in my (third world) country (Argentina) and so i am literally unable to support them and give them my money. before you even suggest it, no. i do not buy digital music, because: firstly, i don’t have the means to. and secondly i have this irrational fear that if i can’t have it in my hand then it can be taken away from me by something as simple as a trojan virus. i KNOW all purchases are saved in ‘the cloud’ or whatever, but still- i don’t know, i said it was irrational. either way if i could have access to physical copies i would totally give them all my money, even though musicians don’t make much profit from record/singles purchases anyway. they make most their money through live performances. and if you’re wondering, yes. i go to every concert all my favorite bands play in my country because i am lucky enough to live in the biggest city where they all come to play. if i didn’t, i probably wouldn’t be able to. because in case you didn’t know, Argentina is a very big country and you cannot simply ‘take a train to anywhere’. so, thank god i live in Capital because i love going to concerts. it is truly a magical experience and also: yeah, bitches, you are incredibly talented, take all my money,  you deserve it!

as far as series and movies go, too. my sister and i are big, big fans of A LOT of series and movies (we follow over 20 series per week) and we buy all the physical copies we can get our hands on. maybe we do illegally watch it at first, but that’s because in this god forsake  country, some of these arrive very, very late (like, we’re still waiting for season 3 of “Arrow” to be edited. We’re on season 6 motherfuckers, get your shit together!). and also movies. and my mom pays for Netflix. and i looooove going to the cinema. a, it’s a whole different experience. b, shut up and take my money.

also books, comics and manga. that shit’s expensive, but i save up and buy them because i love supporting the artists. and, let’s be honest, digital has nothing on physical as far as books go. the weight of the book, watching the drawings up close... sorry, digital has nothing on it. (and i do have the same irrational fear of it being taken away from me... sorry).

so, yeah. i’m a big supporter of the arts. but sometimes i have no other way but to make use of piracy. as sad as that sounds u.u

~talk’s a waste of time~

p.s.: i was saving money to pay my mom in order to purchase “Oscar’s Hotel” and now Vimeo took it down. so i might never be able to watch it in my life :(
