"Leverage" Review

So... my sister's got some friends that really love this show so we thought we'd give it a try. Two days later we found out it hadn't be renewed for another season and we thought: "well... maybe it is not thaaaaat good". We watched the first season and it was like: "it's "Breakout Kings" all over again. Fuck! Do TV show broadcasters hate us, or what? Cuz there ain't not way this show cannot be renewed! IT'S FUCKING AWESOME!". But it wasn't.

And here we are obsessing over an amazing show that will never see a sixth season when "Supernatural" is already on the eighth. No offense to "Supernatural" hardcore "I'd died for Sam & Dean" fans, but after season 5... "Supernatural" pretty much stinks-

Anywho: I thought this was the funniest picture of our "Leverage" team:

In every picture Parker seems to be hanging from something. I find that amusing.

Let's go on a little on the show:

So, "Leverage" is about a group of very talented criminals (if you must say) who were scattered in the country and summoned together to do one single job that neither of them could do on their own. The thing is that that job backfired for them, so they decided they were gonna take the bad guy down and do justice. For them, of course. After that single job was done they were gonna part ways; but being "the good guys" for once felt so good, they decided to stay together, make a team and "pick up justice where law left off".

Let's talk a little about the characters...

Nathan Ford (played by Timothy Hutton), aka: Nate.

He is the "mastermind", the "brains" of the team. He plans off the scam, he makes up plans and getaways on the go. Also, he can act. So, he's pretty much a genius and a leader. He likes to push the other team members harder than they would themselves, partly cuz he knows they can do it and he believes in them, and partly cuz he's a little bit crazy.

Sophie Devereaux (played by Gina Bellman).

Sophie (or whatever her real name is, I'm still in season 3 but got the feeling she's never gonna tell, or "Sophie" is actually her real name) is the "grifter". So tecnically she plans out scams impersonating somebody else and making people give her whatever she wants. Also she wants to be an actress but on the stage she sucks; her real "stage", where she actually shines is when working a job. Also: she's got a thing for Nate and it kinda goes both ways.

Eliot Spencer (played by Christian Kane).

Eliot is the "hitter"; but he is also referred to as the "retriever". Eliot's been all over the world, fighting -or doing jobs- for the biggest thugs out there. He knows all kinds of martial arts and can fist fight his way through any situation. He acts like he doesn't, but he has a warm heart and he cares about everyone in the team; he's always very protective towards his team mates.

Parker (played by Beth Reisgraf).

I've always wondered if "Parker" is actually her real name. Anyways: Parker is the "thief". She can pick any lock, open any safe, and walk her way through heat and motion detectors and laser alarms without activating them. She's awesome. Also, she really likes money, and she knows a lot about diamonds. She's a foster kid and she's a little bit awkward, emotionally and socially. But she's adorable and really cute x3 (she's my favorite character).

Last, but not least:

Alec Hardison (played by Aldis Hodge).

Hardison is the "hacker". And what a hacker! He can hack anything. And I mean, fucking anything. He can pick up any kind of old and new technology within seconds. He creates softwares to get into someone else's computer or security system. He also makes fake IDs and alibis for everybody in the team. He was the first to say outloud that the team was more like a family than a group of criminals. He's always worrying about the others well being. And he's kinda into Parker. But... Parker is Parker, so she's weird and unpredictable.

So... well... I hope the last episode of this show was an amazing episode; cuz they deserve to go big. Actually, hey didn't deserve to go at all, but... if they go, they might as well do it right.
