People over 40 are gonna kill me for this but: Phillip Phillips version is SO MUCH BETTER. Sue me, kill me, hunt me. I don't give a shit. I know what I'm saying is totally crazy, but I'm right. Phillip made this song WAY better.
Top 10 version:
I'm in love with this kid ♥
Top 2 version:
Even. Better.

I loved this version which I've never heard before, of course, 'cause I'm a little bit of an idiot. It kinda makes me wish Phillip would've played it just as it came; but he just couldn't, he had to change it. He had to Phillip Phillips it. I gotta say I'm kinda digging Matchbox Twenty. Damn you, Phillip Phillips! First it was Dave Matthews Band, now Matchbox Twenty... you're gonna ruin me... I have to stop doing this.
By the way; Phillip Phillips version:
He didn't make it better, he just made it different. I still love both versions.
*UPDATE*
Sue me, but I knew Rob Thomas from his solo song "Lonely No More" and I thought he was such a pussy. Of course, it's a whole other matter when you're talking about the band itself. And I was like fifteen years old so... I was pussy and stupid myself xD Anywho: this matter turned out to be a little funny for me. Because I'm like "wow! This band is so awesome!", talking about Matchbox 20. And then I realize the singing guy is "I don't wanna be lonely no more/I don't wanna have to pay for this" ♪ and I'm like: "SERIOUSLY?!" HAHAHA!!! Poor Rob, is not his fault... ^^'

So, I guess this was the song Phillip was talking about when he tweeted the guys sang him a song. Oh, PP, you self-centered bastard. But not really. I love you (:
Colton flipping Phillip's hair back and Phillip flipping Colton's hair back. Fucking. Priceless.
Erika: "That was super weird" Phillip: "That was awesome guys!" -> cutie ♥ And then Hollie goes: "I know". I think it was Hollie, it sounded like her; and it was super sweet (: I love her too.
Yep, he's back. So, I found out -a little bit too late, as always- about this original song he sang for a US TV show like a thousand months ago (better 'late' than 'never', right?) and I'm kinda loving it more and more everytime I listen to it.
The actual song starts around 1.58. I couldn't find a video that only shows the song, but... nothing's better than the original, right? Whatever that means... I tried to figure out the lyrics. Probably messed them up here and there, but... I've good intentions (?)
"Hazel"
You broke my heart and picked the pieces Threw 'em in the fire to burn Let me cold out in the rain Now I'm moving on without you baby Without you by my side I'm finally feeling free
But I know that the sun will shine for me Even when the skies are grey And I feel like I'm missing something But the bridges built narrow ways
I know you moved on without me, girl but I still think how the time it moved so fast I still think of how the world it goes around & round & round But it all stopped when you said "enough for now"
But I know that the sun will shine for me Even when the skies are grey And I feel like I'm missing something But the bridges built narrow ways
Like the ocean washes sand to the shore You're like the sun that slips away Left the taste of an angel And eyes that bring me to my knees And a smile that could set me free
Just follow me Just follow me
By the way: this is a pretty nice cover:
At first it feels a little rough. But the girl's got soul, you gotta give her that much. She made it her own. Lovely (:
It's been a while since I last listened to this song, but I gotta say: Phillip Phillips totally rocked it.
Yeah, yeah... I know it's all about PP lately, but you guys know that when I get obessesed with something I go all the way -whatever that means. I just love this little dude! And I wanna see him succeed (: I truly can't wait to hear his own stuff -more of his own stuff.
You can tell he so NOT confortable with interviews... which makes him even cuter (if he can get any cuter) "Hazel" = original song. YES! YES! YES! Man! Can't wait to hear an entire album from this guy. He's so talented...
I- I don't even know what to write about this... I love them both so much. And have them all sleepy and tired trying to talk and make sense... AWESOMENESS.
Don't criticise me (or hate me), but this is the first time I heard or watched a video of this band. Honestly, looking at Dave, is hard for me not to think of Phillip Phillips (or should I say it the other way around?). I mean, the guy (Phillip) doesn't wanna be compared to this great artist (Dave), but... everything reminds me of him! The eyebrows move, the singing with his eyes closed, the frowning, the walking, the leg! Geez! He even stole the leg move! He probably didn't do it on purpose, but, come on! Seriously?! You cannot expect not to be compared to Dave Matthews when you act just the same on stage. Just saying...
Another performance from June 13, 2009 at Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY.
This changed my life. It's things like these that remind me how much it sucks to live on the other side of the World from the US... ¬¬ I could've heard about this band a long, long time ago...
Last, but not least: the Phillip Phillips' performance at American Idol (Top 6)
224 dislikes. Of course, if you ever heard the original Dave Matthews Band version. But, whatever! I love Phillip Phillips, he rules (: You can tell he really loves the song, he's having a freaking blast playing it ^^ I guess that's what we all love about Phillip. It's all about playing the music for him.
I mean: what else is there to say for me?! I love, love, love this kid (:
