Evan Peters wants to play a really messed up character in FX's American Horror Story: Hotel.
Peters recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about his role of Jimmy Darling in AHS: Freak Show and what he's hoping to play in season 5, titled Hotel.
"He was kind of the leader in the freak show - and it was a really hard role. There was a lot of emotion involved, a lot of physical stuff," Peters admitted. "Wearing those [deformed] hands every day and trying to make them believable was very difficult. I mean, they were rubber. You can't really touch anything because the paint rubs off quickly and the glue comes undone. They were a very temperamental prosthetic."
The actor also explained how he was drawn into the world of Ryan Murphy's horror anthology series before the first season.
"I was basically out of work. I didn't know it was going to be anything like it ended up being, but I just fell in love with [my character] Tate," Peters said. "Then Ryan called me and asked me if I wanted to do season two and said, 'Do you want to be a different character? Because it's going to be a whole new story.' That's a huge draw because you don't get pigeonholed. I've had the opportunity to play four different characters so far, which is just unheard of."
Peters has now starred in all five seasons of American Horror Story, one of very few actors to do so. He has played a variety of characters over the years from the trouble teen Tate in season 1 to "lobster boy" Jimmy Darling in Freak Show.
Now the actor wants to play someone with an edge in Hotel.
"Something totally scandalous. I like the real f-ed up stuff," Peters said, when asked who he wants to play in the fifth season.
Very little has been revealed about who Peters is playing in Hotel, though Murphy did tweet that the actor will be in "Room 64," which will probably have an ominous vibe to it.
American Horror Story: Hotel begins in October on FX, though the network has not yet announced a specific premiere date.

Returning cast members Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson are rumored to play villains in "AHS: Hotel." Both vets are willing and even excited to return even if this means they won't be the good guys this season 5!
Last April 13, Ryan Murphy, the producer of the show tweeted that Sarah Paulson will be "the baddest bad girl of them all." This spoiler left fans wondering what Sarah's next role will be. In a recent interview with The Wrap, the actress, who played Bette and Dot Tattler in last season's "AHS: Freak Show" hinted fans with "Well I think I've never played any villain in the show, so perhaps there's going to be an element of bad bad girl."
After his interview with Gold Derby, Evan Peters, who is also a regular on the show, is also surmised to portray a villain in "AHS: Hotel." When asked if he is willing to play an antagonist in the succeeding seasons, he replied  "I'd love to. I mean, whatever they give me I'll play. I really don't mind. I think that it's just so fun to work on the show, so I would definitely in a heartbeat."
Although Evans and Paulson didn't really confirm the speculations, fans can only hope that "AHS: Hotel" will be as amazing and creepy as its preceding seasons. New spoilers regarding the plot have not yet been given other than the fact that Kathy Bates will be running the already infamous Hotel in season 5.
It will be strange not seeing Jessica Lange on the show; however, Ryan Murphy's new cast will definitely not disappoint! Ryan Murphy announced that Chloe Sevigny who played the character Shelley will return to "AHS: Hotel." New actors such as the pop star Lady Gaga and "New Girl"'s Max Greenfield were also welcomed into the "AHS" family.
"AHS: Hotel" release date is set in October, which is why the team will start shooting this July in Los Angeles. With San Diego Comic-Con happening in July 8-12, more spoilers regarding "AHS: Hotel" will surely come.
