TV: New Details about ‘American Horror Story’ Season 4, ‘Freak Show’

A while back, some pictures that turned out to just be fan art were released which depicted the next season of “American Horror Story” as a carnival. Turns out they were insanely close to the actual storyline which is that season 4, as reported by EW, will have a “Freak Show” theme.
Jessica Lange is again the leading lady, this time a German ex-pat in charge of one of the United State’s last freak shows. It’s set in 1950 in Jupiter, Florida, and the showcased performers are all some very recognizable names. Set to return are Kathy BatesSarah PaulsonEvan PetersFrances Conroy and Angela Bassett as freaks rescued by Lange’s character. And Emma Roberts might come back too. Eh.
Ryan Murphy went more for gore than psychological horror in season 3 of the show, but the set-up for this one seems like psychological scarring is likely. Creepy is always scarier than bloody, try and prove me wrong. Also, seeing as this is reportedly Lange’s last season on the show, we can only give a collective sob and hope it will do her justice.

at least Evan will be in it (: i'm really, really excited about Emma Roberts. and of course, reading names like: Ms. Lange, Kathy Bates (the Queen), Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy (god, i love her so fucking much) and Angela Bassett is reasuring... it'll be epic. or it'll be really, really bad. i won't get my hopes up until i see a trailer in like... July... why do we have to wait for so long?! not fair =3=

'American Horror Story' Season 4 Title Revealed

Showrunner Ryan Murphy broke the news Monday on Twitter.

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has announced the subtitle of the FX anthology's fourth season.

The showrunner broke his Twitter hiatus Monday to reveal that the next installment of the series will be titled American Horror Story: Freak Show.
The new title comes as little surprise after AHS writer Douglas Petrie confirmed that the next incarnation of the series will be set in a spooky carnival.

When asked if the drama would focus on a "carnival" theme, Petrie confirmed the concept. "Very roughly, that's the idea," he told panelists Moira Kirland (Arrow, Castle) and Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett (Syfy's upcoming 12 Monkeys) during a Nerdist Writers Panel podcast.

Murphy previously announced that season four will take place in the 1950s, further narrowing the overall concept of the season, which is poised to be the final run for star Jessica Lange. Additional casting announcements have not yet been made. The creators and a handful of players from the repertory cast are set for the March 28 AHS panel at PaleyFest, where last year Murphy announced the third season concept and Coven subtitle.

Freak Show follows AHS' Murder House, Asylum and Coven runs and debuts in October on FX.

at least with the idea of there being clowns we can hope Murchuk will bring back the 'horror' fact to the show... cuz, lemme tell ya: it hasn't been scary since season 1, you feel me?

i'm less and less excited for American Horror Story with each season that goes by... and knowing this will be Ms. Lange's last season... it's all just sad. i really hope Evan Peters gets a part. he's brilliant.
