a scene you love
Oh, dear. The scene I love the most (which happens to be my favorite, Do'h!) is definitely when Violet decides to help Tate "go to the other side"
-> yeah, like there is "another side". Anyways: everything about that
scene is perfect.
I'm a little surprised this book hasn't been taken out in over sixteen years... I mean, not like birds are that interesting but... sixteen years is a lot of time.
He comes up to her like: "Okay, let's cut the crap. I'm not scaring you anymore"
And
she looks at him like: "C'mon! There's no way in Hell you could've
killed all those kids! Look at your pretty face!". Nah, I'm kidding. But
I think she still doesn't wanna believe he did it for no reason. She
refuses to think he just went crazy from night to day. Oh, wait, maybe a
little coke helped in the process...
At first he's acting all: "I'm cool with it, I don't care if you think I'm a monster"
Then she looks at him with glistening eyes and he's all like...
... "Please don't leave me!!! I LOVE YOU!".
That
dialogue Tate has; everything he says is so appropiate. It sounds
spontaneus, but he also says all the right things, as if he thought a
lot what he wanted to tell Violet.
I
love how Tate cries a lot; even though brilliant Dr. Harmon says (a few
episodes later) that he's the worst kind of psycho, and dangerous and
incapable of feeling remorse and conecting with people. Suck on that Dr.
H.!
I
think Violet was very brave in taking Tate in. I mean, not anyone
would've been able to pull that one out; she knew he was a mass
murderer, but she also strongly believed that he wanted to change and be
a good person for once.
Also: I love the way he crawls onto bed instead of just walking around to lay down.
But
this. This is the reason the scene is perfect. Tate is showing all his
vulnerability and Violet holds him somehow saying "everything's gonna be
alright. I'm here...", like he told her so many times before.
Is
that moment right there when they have each other and are sure of
that's all they need. He says: "I would never let anyone or anythig hurt
you". And she says: "Let me hold you and make the pain go away".
It's
a sick kinda love. But... it's romantic and everyone wants to believe
that can exist in an unexisting world, such as fiction. 'Cause, let's be
honest: if I found out two kids are like this in the real life (let's
suppose for a moment Tate's not dead but still a mass murderer), It'd
scare the shit outta me. It's not normal, it's not pretty. But, for a
T.V. show, we look at them like this and it's like: "Aw! I wanna be
Violet so bad!".
My
second to favorite scene is the "Go away, Tate!" one from 1x11
("Birth"). Also, when Tate shows Violet her dead body, 1x10 ("Smoldering
Children"). The scene on the beach,
their first official date from 1x05 ("Halloween (Part 2)"). And last,
but not least: Constance's scene (1x12 - "Afterbirth") when she finds
baby Michael all covered in nanny's blood laughing on the rocking chair =
AWESOME.
